This website is provided and controlled by Thenamaris (Ships Management) Inc., of 80 Broad Street, Monrovia, Liberia, with a registered office at 16 Athinas Street, Vouliagmeni 16671, Greece (hereinafter referred to as “Thenamaris” or “us”).
It is intended that the present privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as “Privacy Policy”) complies with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”).
You should carefully read the Privacy Policy before deciding to become a User of the On-board job application form.This Privacy Policy, the Terms and Conditions and the Notice Of Processing Of Personal Data are hereby incorporated by reference (collectively referred to as the "Agreement"), and govern our treatment of any information, including but not limited to personally identifiable information (personal data) you may from time to time submit to us. Please note that certain information, statements, data and content which you may voluntarily submit to Thenamaris, could reveal your gender, ethnic origin, nationality, age, and/or other personal data about you.
The Privacy Policy applies to all personal data, as same are defined in the GDPR, including the special categories of personal data, which are processed by Thenamaris, in its capacity as data controller, for all the job applicants (the applicant seafarers of the managed vessels).
You fully acknowledge, confirm, accept and agree that when you submit personal and/or non-personal information of whatsoever nature and/or content to Thenamaris voluntarily, you agree with the Terms and Conditions, the Notice Of Processing Of Personal Data and the Privacy Policy
1. Collection and use of personal information
When you create your account, Thenamaris may collect a variety of information, including but not limited to your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, date of birth, recruitment availability data, service history, trainings and contact preferences and other information only when voluntarily provided by you.
The personal data collected allows Thenamaris to determine your possible future assignment/recruitment on-board vessels under its management. Without these data, Thenamaris will not be able to assess potential recruitment and communicate with you. Thenamaris may also use personal data for internal/administrative purposes such as data analysis and research to improve Thenamaris´ management systems.
From time to time, Thenamaris may use your personal data to send important notices, such as communications about the progress of your application through e-mail messages.
2. Protection of Personal Data
The protection of your personal data is a major priority to us. We respect your right to confidentiality and we take precautions including technical, operational and physical measures to protect your personal data against loss, theft, and misuse, as well as against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. We place appropriate restrictions on access to personal data and implement appropriate measures and controls to store and transfer data securely. Privacy impact assessments are also conducted, as necessary, in accordance with Thenamaris’ policies and the applicable legislation. The personal data you voluntarily submit is visible to Thenamaris’ shore-based personnel. You are responsible for the personal data you choose to submit in these instances. When your personal data are no longer needed, we securely delete or encrypt them. We may also save your personal data for a longer period of time, as necessary, in order to fulfil a legal obligation which requires processing by law or in order for us to protect or defend our legal rights .
3. Accuracy of Personal Data
You can help ensure that your contact information and preferences are accurate, complete, and up to date by logging in to your account and proceeding with the necessary amendments.
4. Disclosure to Third Parties
In principle, Thenamaris does not disclose the processed personal data to third party recipients outside the company.
Thenamaris may make certain personal data available to service providers, such as consultants, accountants, lawyers and IT service providers and/or to certain manning agencies which recruit seafarers on behalf of the owners of the vessels managed by Thenamaris. These third parties will process the personal data solely on behalf of and on the basis of orders of Thenamaris as these are set out in the respective data processing agreements and in compliance with the applicable legislation on personal data including the General Data Protection Regulation
It may be necessary by law, legal process, litigation, and/or requests from public and governmental authorities within or outside your country of residence for Thenamaris to disclose your personal data. Thenamaris may also disclose information about you if this is required for purposes of law enforcement, national security, or other issues of public importance, disclosure is necessary or appropriate.
Thenamaris is also entitled to disclose information about you if such disclosure is necessary to enforce the Terms and Conditions or protect its operations or other Users and/or Thenamaris´ shore personnel. Additionally, in the event of reorganization, merger, or change of control Thenamaris may transfer any and all personal information collected to the relevant third party.

We respect your right to access your data, and if requested, we will correct, amend or delete your personal data, as necessary. In order to give you access to your personal data, we may request proof of identity and sufficient information so that we can locate any relevant data. If requested, subject to any legal requirements and other obligations and factors, we will correct or amend your personal data, as appropriate.
8. Transferring Your Personal Data
Your personal data collected by Thenamaris may be stored and processed in the European Union or in any other country as necessary. Should Thenamaris need to transfer your personal data, Thenamaris will take all necessary and appropriate measures to ensure that the transfer of your personal data is conducted securely and in compliance with the requirements of the GDPR.
9. Duty of Confidentiality
Confidential information is defined as the information of any kind whatsoever (written, spoken or other) that regard Thenamaris, any affiliated companies, the vessels under the management of Thenamaris and their ship owning companies, crews, products, inventions, procedures, methods, systems, plans, practices, know-how, business, administrative and financial classified information, business opportunities, business or financial intentions as well as all the information that might be communicated to you by Thenamaris or might come to your attention throughout the duration of this Agreement, so long as the same do not constitute preexisting public knowledge and/or are not already made public by Thenamaris.
You shall comply with the confidentiality obligations towards Thenamaris. You should neither disclose any confidential information or professional secret of Thenamaris or Thenamaris´ clients nor use any confidential information or professional secret for your own benefit or for a third party´s benefit, whether this Agreement is in force or after it´s interruption/termination.
You agree and acknowledge that a) you will keep your password secure and confidential; b) all passwords used for your personal access to any of the Form´s information and of the Seafarer’s Account information, data and/or systems constitute your electronic signature, therefore they shall not be disclosed to third parties for any reason whatsoever; c) you will not permit others to use your account; d) you will refrain from using other users´ accounts; e) you will refrain from selling, trading, or otherwise transferring your Form and your Seafarer’s Account to another party; and f) you will refrain from charging anyone for access to any portion of the Form, or any information therein.
